If you’re pawrents to a kitty that just eats everything in sight, as well as one that just loves to nibble throughout the day, keeping them both eating correctly can be, well, a pain. The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder solves this problem easily by restricting access to just one cat, preventing the greedier cat from accessing the delicious tuna inside.
- 400ml bowl capacity
- Compatible with all microchips
- 3-year warranty
Powered by four C-sized batteries that last for half a year or so, the SureFeed feeder works by only opening the the food lid when the registered cat goes under the arch. It does require your cat to be microchipped or wearing Sure’s RFID collar tags to work.
Registering a cat is simple, simply press the add pet button at the back, put some food in the bowl and as your cat starts eating from it, the chip reader on the SureFeed will scan your cat and store his or her ID in memory. You can also add multiple pets (up to 32) — though I’m not sure why you need to. It comes with a training video, but my cat took to the feeder right from the get-go.
If you’re like me and own both a grazer and a gobbler, the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is a godsend. Besides preventing a greedy cat from eating the food from other cats, the lid helps keep the food fresh over the course of the day as well. I recommend buying the stainless steel bowl as well, since the plastic bowl seems to scratch easily and may cause chin acne on your pet.
The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder retails on both Amazon and Lazada, but it’s much cheaper on Amazon at around $204. You can also get the rear cover accessory to prevent smarter greedy cats from trying to sneak in from behind to eat, but it’s not an issue if you just place the feeder against the wall.
