The Baseus Dual Wireless Charger is a compact product that simultaneously charges two smartphones wirelessly. This seems useful, but after an extended period of use, I’ve concluded that getting two good dedicated chargers is better.
- 10W wireless charging
- Comes in black or white
- Includes power adaptor and USB cable
Available in black or white, the Baseus Dual Wireless Charger has a simple design that won’t look out of place anywhere. It’s solidly built and comes with a power adaptor and USB-C cable. The two round charging pads flank a green LED that lights up when a device(s) is charging. The pads have a smooth, soft-touch finish that provides just enough friction so your phones don’t slide off.
Supporting up to 10W wireless charging, the Baseus Dual Wireless Charger is not incredibly fast. Using a USB power tester, I observed a maximum power of 7.5W when charging an iPhone SE (2020) that was low on battery. Adding a second Android phone, it remained under 8W, so both phones were charging at a lower speed. If this was evenly split, it would mean a mere 4W per device. I repeated this test using different combinations of products, yielding similar results each time.
Most users are not going to be able to find out how fast their phone is charging, but they are going to be annoyed to get a measly few percent increase after 20 minutes. To avoid this scenario with the Baseus Dual Wireless Charger, you would have to use just one pad at a time, which makes the “dual-ness” of this product pointless.
I can imagine a very specific use-case for the Baseus Dual Wireless Charger: someone who MUST have only one charger on their desk for two devices, and can accept slow charging. For everyone else, I recommend getting two dedicated wireless chargers for faster charging. This shouldn’t cost too much more than the S$47.90 asking price of the Baseus Dual Wireless Charger.
