The Bee Sim Juicy Meat Siew Mai packs quite a mouthful. Each siew mai is flavor-filled, and doesn’t feel mushy when eating. While more expensive compared to your usual siew mai packs at S$6.50, it comes with 15 juicy bites to satisfy your dim sum cravings.

Package: The Bee Sim Juicy Siew Mai is made in Singapore. The package weighs 500g, with each siew mai weighing around an average of 33g. The main ingredients include pork, squid paste, oyster sauce, and various flavorings including sugar, sesame oil, ginger, pepper and salt.
Cooking: You can chill or freeze the siew mai, depending on when you are planning to eat it. There’s no cooking instructions on the package, and a quick check on the manufacturer’s website suggests a minimum of 10 minutes. Steaming the food for 15 minutes from chilled does the trick for me. It warms the meat up nicely and gets it juicy.
Taste: I’ve eaten plenty of packaged siew mai in my life, and Bee Sim’s take is one of the best I’ve tried so far. It’s not overly salty, and every bite is a delight. You’ll want to pair it with chilli — I’m partial to garlic chilli myself. The siew mai’s wrappings also don’t become soft after steaming — which some do — and add to the mouthfeel. Note that taste is subjective, so you may not find this as tasty. But it’s still worth a try.
The Bee Sim Juicy Meat Siew Mai is available at most supermarkets. I’ve seen it mostly at Giant. You can get it online at Shopee, with free shipping if you order at least S$50 of goods.
